Job summary

Reid Petroleum LLC is seeking a Field IT Infrastructure Technician to install and deploy network hardware, cabling, and POS systems at multiple sites. You will configure PCs, CCTV, and related equipment while following project plans and safety standards.

The role involves field travel, operating a company vehicle, and maintaining accurate site documentation. Experience with low voltage cabling and POS deployments is valued

Qualifications

• Associate or higher in information technology or applicable experience.
• Experience with low voltage and structured cabling systems.
• Familiarity with computer networking, VLANs and cabling standards.
• Retail or fuel retail environment experience is a plus.
• Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and follow technical plans.
• Willingness to travel to multiple job sites and operate company vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure Windows PCs and peripherals based on project specs.
• Install and configure POS systems including NCR Radiant and Verifone Commander.
• Track and document inventory and asset management for IT hardware.
• Travel to job sites and operate a company vehicle safely.
• Run, terminate, and test Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling; build network racks and patch panels.
• Install CCTV cameras and DVR/NVR units; verify coverage.

Description

The IT Infrastructure Field Technician is responsible for the on‑site installation and deployment of network infrastructure, cabling, hardware, and Point of Sale (POS) systems across both existing and new construction locations. This role is hands‑on and ideal for someone who enjoys working in the field, building systems from the ground up, and solving real‑world technical challenges.

This position is focused on IT infrastructure installation, including low voltage and structured cabling runs, network rack builds, CCTV systems, as well as computer, printer, and multimedia hardware installation. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, operate safely and efficiently, and embody our company values in every interaction.

Field-Based Role | Travel Required

What You’ll Do

Hardware & Peripheral Installation

• Install and configure Windows PCs and peripherals (printers, scanners, HID devices)
• Ensure all hardware is deployed according to project specifications

POS System Deployment

• Install and configure POS systems, including NCR Radiant and Verifone Commander
• Support site readiness and system functionality per deployment plans

Inventory & Asset Management

• Track and maintain inventory of equipment and parts
• Ensure accurate documentation and asset management of all IT hardware

Field Work & Travel

• Operate a company vehicle to travel to job sites
• Maintain a clean driving record and follow all safety protocols

Low Voltage & Network Infrastructure

• Run, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling
• Build and install network racks, patch panels, and cable management systems
• Label, certify, and document all cabling and connections
• Maintain accurate port mapping and site documentation

CCTV Installation

• Install and configure CCTV systems, including cameras and DVR/NVR units
• Run coaxial and IP cabling and verify system coverage

Additional Responsibilities

• Support other IT field technician duties as assigned
• Follow company standards, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times

• Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical plans
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology or applicable experience
• Working knowledge of computer operating systems, primarily Microsoft Windows, with some Linux
• Working knowledge of basic computer networking, cabling standards and vlan segmentation
• Experience in a Retail or Fuel Retail environment
