Job summary

CSI Laboratories, a Fulgent Genetics company, seeks an IT Help Desk Technician in Alpharetta, GA to provide user support, hardware/software maintenance, and security/compliance oversight. You will install, repair, and configure systems and assist with training and access control. The role reports to the IT Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree or equivalent experience, plus hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field or equivalent work exposure.
• Knowledge of programming languages and operating systems.
• Current equipment and technologies in use; system administration, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools.
• Effective project management techniques.
• DHCP management and DNS management experience.

Responsibilities

• Resolve and assist staff with help desk issues as they arise.
• Maintain infrastructure equipment: servers, network, UPSs, phones, printers.
• Perform software updates/upgrades and troubleshoot applications.
• Assist with network and security tasks and document problem resolutions.
• Provide training and support for Microsoft 365, Office 365 and Google Apps.

By merging our fields of expertise, we aim to become a fully integrated precision medicine company.Summary of PositionThe IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate security and permission profiles to support all business needs including compliance and management controls. Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems, and provides technical assistance and training to system users by performing the following duties:Vendor contract negotiationsEquipment sourcing and purchasingDesign and assure proper installation of software and equipmentImprove network function reliabilityMaintain network availability and securityInteract with employees for support issuesPlan and schedule updatesSolve and document network problemsRecommend and evaluate new equipmentDetermine priority of reported problemsSet up standard operating proceduresManage intra-office computer network, implementing new programs, control user access.Provide updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication.Replace defective or inadequate software packages.Refer major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.Key Job ElementsHelp Desk – Resolve and help as issues arise for staff.Maintain Infrastructure Equipment – Servers, Network, UPSs, Phones, Printers need to be monitored and maintained.
