Job summary

Inform Diagnostics, a Fulgent Genetics company, is seeking a Lab Aide I to support the Histology department. You will prepare, load/unload stainers, and maintain equipment to ensure patient output.

This role requires a high school diploma, manual dexterity, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume lab. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences strongly preferred.
• Prior lab experience is preferred.
• Manual dexterity to use common laboratory equipment.

• Visual acuity and analytical skills to distinguish fine detail.

Responsibilities

• Handles, prepares, and loads/unloads stainers; performs dehydration and coverslips on slides.
• Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and shuts down laboratory equipment.
• Files, tracks, retrieves, and records information; labels blocks and slides.
• Logs slides and stains in the laboratory logbooks and LIMS.
• Ensures diagnostic viability and correct patient labeling of materials.

By merging our fields of expertise, we aim to become a fully integrated precision medicine company.Summary of PositionThe Lab Aide I is responsible for supporting the Histology department with all clerical and ancillary duties in keeping all equipment ready to run for patient output. This position works under the direction of the supervisor and follows standard Laboratory procedures and policies.Key Job ElementsHandles, prepares, and loads/unloads stainers; conducts dehydrating and cover slips slides utilizing manual or automatic systems.Prepares, cleans, sterilizes, maintains, and shuts down Laboratory equipment, accessories, and instruments.Responsible for filing, tracking, retrieval, and accurate record keeping.Maintains diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensures correct patient labeling of all materials.Routinely checks and verifies that surgical case numbers match blocks and slides; prints Labels as appropriate.Records in Laboratory logbooks all slides and stains prepared.
