Job summary

SBT Global, Inc. is seeking an IT technician to be the reference point for IT queries at the user level, ensuring timely responses and smooth system operation. The role includes installing and configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining documentation.

You will collaborate across departments, assess needs, perform backups, manage assets, and support infrastructure and R&D. 4+ years in networks and systems maintenance and relevant certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
• A+, Linux+ or CCNA accreditation advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure hardware and software components to ensure usability.
• Respond to user needs in a timely manner and be the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and maintain technical documentation.
• Perform daily backup operations and manage asset tracking and audits.

Job description

We are looking for technically skilled candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT technician. The duties of an IT technician include being a reference point for all IT related queries at the user level, responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties.

IT technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels. They are required to listen to their technical needs, understand their problems, and implement solutions to them.

Job Description

• Installing and configuring hardware and software components to ensure usability.
• Rack and stacking Server, lifting up to 50lb weight.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
• Repairing or replacing damaged hardware.
• Upgrading the entire system to enable compatible software on all computers.
• Install and configure systems which support infrastructure and/or R&D activities.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
• Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
• Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
• Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
• Conducting daily backup operations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in computer networks and systems maintenance.
• A+, Linux+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation advantageous.
• RHEL, CENTOS, ROCKY, UBUNTU, and other Linux base OS installation, management, and support
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Good problem-solving skills.
