Job summary

Astro Mechanica seeks a hands-on IT leader to build and run the help desk for a fast-growing aerospace startup. You will supervise the IT team, own Windows, macOS, and Linux support, manage Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High, and administer Intune and Jamf. You will design secure network infrastructure and ensure CMMC 2.0 and ITAR/EAR compliance.

The role is on-site in San Francisco, US citizen required, with Monday–Friday schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3++ years managing IT or help desk teams.
• 2+ years in a startup environment is preferred.
• 3+ years Windows and macOS administration, Linux experience a plus.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Intune and Jamf MDM platforms.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High.
• Knowledge of Ubiquiti and Cisco networking.
• Experience maintaining a CMMC 2.0 compliant work environment.
• Familiarity with ITAR/EAR compliance requirements.
• Willingness to work full-time in-office, Monday to Friday.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire and mentor the IT help desk team with clear SLAs and escalation paths.
• Own day-to-day IT support for Windows, macOS and Linux users.
• Administer Microsoft 365 GCC and GCC High tenants (identity, email, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
• Manage endpoints with Intune and Jamf (enrollment, config, patching, compliance, app deployment).
• Design, maintain and troubleshoot network infrastructure (Ubiquiti, Cisco)—switching, wireless, VPN, firewalls.
• Maintain a CMMC 2.0 compliant environment and support audits.
• Ensure ITAR/EAR compliance for handling controlled data.
• Oversee onboarding/offboarding, access reviews, asset lifecycle.
• Write and maintain IT documentation, runbooks and guides.
• Partner with engineering/ops to evaluate and roll out new tools.
