Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Windows environments, basic LAN setups, and physical cabling.
  • Physical Requirements: Lift up to 50 lbs; bend, crawl under desks; use scissor lift.

  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and other IT hardware.
  • Perform hardware repairs and upgrades, including replacing drives, RAM, motherboards, and components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, peripheral, cabling, and basic software issues.
  • Prepare new computer systems by installing Windows, business apps, updates, and security patches.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment and deployments.
  • Respond to IT support requests and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot network cabling; use ladders and lifts when required.
  • Travel between AST facilities to provide on-site support.
  • Assist with maintaining an organized IT workspace and other duties.

Job description

We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused IT Hardware Technician to support the installation, maintenance, repair, and deployment of computer hardware and related technology throughout the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring company hardware operates efficiently while providing timely technical support to end users.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and enjoys troubleshooting hardware issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role works closely with employees across all departments to support daily operations and minimize equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and other IT hardware.
  • Perform hardware repairs and upgrades, including replacing hard drives, memory (RAM), motherboards, and other components.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, peripheral, cabling, and basic software issues to identify and resolve technical problems.
  • Prepare new computer systems by installing Windows operating systems, standard business applications, software updates, and security patches.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of IT equipment, hardware assets, and equipment deployments.
  • Respond to IT support requests through the company’s ticketing system and elevate complex issues as needed.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot network cabling while safely using ladders and personnel lifts when required.
  • Travel between AST facilities as needed to provide on-site technical support.
  • Assist with maintaining an organized IT workspace and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Job Type & Pay

  • Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person
  • Pay Range: $25-$30 per hour (commensurate with experience)
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday
  • Expected Hours: 40 hours per week
