Job summary

Christ Chapel Bible Church seeks an IT Generalist to partner with the IT Director on new projects for staff across 4 campuses. You will work hands-on with Systems Engineers, manage networking, M365, Mac device management, and VM servers, while supporting hardware, software, and analytics.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years IT experience, a bachelor’s in IT or CS, and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical staff. Some climbing and lifting up to 40 lbs may be required.

Qualifications

• Understanding of networking (VLANs, DNS, DHCP, multicast) and connections.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Entra ID, Azure, and SharePoint.
• Experience managing MacOS devices (MDM/DDM) and cross-platform support.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V).

• Partner with IT Director to implement projects and processes across 4 campuses.
• Lead hands-on IT tasks with Systems Engineers and delegate responsibilities.
• Support staff with hardware, software, and analytics while addressing roadblocks.

Role’s Mission:The IT department at Christ Chapel is committed to helping the church fulfill its mission. They support all staff members across 4 campuses with hardware, infrastructure, software development, database management, and analytics.Christ Chapel’s Mission:To stretch every involved person from the threshold of their spiritual pilgrimage toward becoming a fully developing follower of Christ. (Col 1:28-29)Role’s Responsibilities:The IT Generalist partners with the IT Director to implement new projects and processes. They quickly understand the project or problem, break it down to develop an action plan, and then work hands-on with the Systems Engineers, delegating responsibilities and navigating roadblocks.The current projects would include but are not limited to:Wireless AP replacementRework Jamf management of Apple workstations (we’re 98% Mac)Active Directory rebuildReplace core switchesReplace VM servers / storageFinish FreshService buildoutRole’s Reporting Relationship: This role reports directly to the IT Director.Role Details: Full-Time | Exempt | SalariedRole’s Requirements:An IT Generalist must be knowledgeable and experienced in a wide range of IT areas.Key areas include:Networking (VLANs, multicasting, DNS, DHCP, Layer 2 & 3 management)Microsoft 365 Ecosystem (Entra ID, Azure, SharePoint)Mac OS and device management (MDM, DDM)Virtual Servers (VMware & Hyper-V deployments)Cyber SecurityAI Agents (MCP servers, Claude Desktop)The typical work week is Sunday-Thursday with occasional late night and weekend projects.All Christ Chapel staff members are required to work Christmas Eve and Easter Weekend.Character –Must be a Christian.Must be living an “above reproach” lifestyle as outlined in the Bible and Christ Chapel’s Employee Handbook.Must be willing to own their mistakes.Must have a desire to teach and help others.Must be trustworthy with confidential data.Must be able to maintain a positive attitude despite being stressed or frustrated.Calling –Must understand their life, knowledge, and experience are all gift from God for His purpose.Must be committed to and supportive of the authority of the Elders, the pastoral staff, and the philosophy and direction of the church both in public and in private.Must be a faithful steward of work and time.Competency –Minimum 3 years of IT experience.Preferably holds a bachelor’s in IT or CS.Current on industry changes and best practices.Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.Must be able to occasionally climb ladders, lift 40-lb objects, and get dirty.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work for this role.
