Under the direction of the Sr. Finance Manager, in conjunction with higher-level Financial Analysts, this role involves assisting with operational budget and financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor initiative spending, and forecast cash flow for the health system's senior financial administration. The incumbent will support department managers, directors, and administrators in budget preparation and provide targeted reports on budget performance. Additionally, the role supports the IS department with budget and financial analysis and requires the ability to handle multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively with various staff levels. The position also involves requisitioning functions for the IS department.

Essential Duties

1. Understanding and explaining simple budget variances; interpreting basic financial data.
2. Assisting with financial analysis for Monthly Financial Reports and ad hoc reports.
3. Supporting the preparation of the annual IS Budget.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; creating charts, graphs, pivots, v-lookups, etc.
5. Handling requisitions for contracts, especially maintenance, and processing invoices accurately.
6. Creating simple, accurate financial forecasts and performing Year Over Year analysis.
7. Interpreting and calculating financial implications of contracts, SOWs, quotes, change orders, etc.
8. Maintaining hospital and regulatory records securely, ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
9. Assisting in training and guiding junior staff and personnel across the service line.
10. Performing other financial tasks, duties, and special projects as assigned.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in healthcare or similar environment.
• IT knowledge.

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City); must obtain within 30 days of hire if not already certified.

The hourly rate range is $29.00 - $45.20. USC considers various factors when extending an employment offer, including experience, education, skills, and organizational considerations.
