The IT Engineer, User Experience independently delivers and improves user‑facing technology services across a global enterprise environment. The role engineers and supports endpoint management, device lifecycle, collaboration, automation, monitoring, and service‑management capabilities while contributing technical guidance to interns and associate engineers. The assigned portfolio may emphasize Microsoft Intune and Tanium, Microsoft 365 and Zoom, meeting‑room technology, executive technology support, or a combination of these services. This position reports to the IT Manager, User Experience and has no direct or indirect reports. This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska. This position is expected to work five days per week in the office. Ability to travel up to 25%, including potential domestic or international overnight travel. Collaborate with Valmont staff, IT teams, leadership, and external partners to deliver reliable user‑facing technology services that support business objectives and continual improvement. Execute the design, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of user‑facing technology systems, processes, tooling, and automation in accordance with standards, policies, and established best practices. Develop and maintain functional documentation that details standard operating procedures, troubleshooting techniques, system architecture, and solutions. Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors or solution providers to gain stakeholder alignment and deliver valuable, supportable technology capabilities. Participate as a subject matter expert in Major Incident Management responses to business‑impacting events and support reporting, follow‑up, and process improvement. Implement and execute continual service improvement activities and translate findings into practical service enhancements. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to understand and meet service needs. Create reports in response to business and operational needs. Use and evaluate appropriate tools to detect, alert, triage, respond, remediate, and manage user‑experience services as conditions change. Track and document system incidents, service requests, problems, changes, and resolutions in the company’s IT service‑management system. Track and document project plans, schedules, progress, changes, decisions, and issue resolution using approved project‑management tools. Build productive working relationships across Valmont IT and business teams. Perform assigned work with the level of self‑direction appropriate to the role and elevate risks or blockers promptly. Comply with applicable domestic and international travel requirements, including required travel documentation, health requirements, and safety practices. Write and review supporting documentation such as release notes, knowledge articles, help content, standards, and feature guidance.
Engineer and maintain device provisioning, configuration baselines, patching, software deployment, and lifecycle processes for Windows, macOS, and mobile devices, including Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, or comparable modern provisioning and imaging technologies. Administer Microsoft Intune and Tanium capabilities for enrollment, policy enforcement, asset visibility, compliance, patching, software distribution, employee self‑service, endpoint performance, provisioning, application delivery, and remote remediation. Engineer software packaging and application delivery, including MSI‑based installations, deployment troubleshooting, and self‑service software distribution. Administer Apple Business Manager, Android Enterprise, Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment, or comparable services supporting automated enrollment and device lifecycle management. Engineer mobile‑device onboarding, application deployment, troubleshooting, compliance, remediation, and lifecycle processes across iOS and Android platforms. Implement endpoint security controls including device encryption, compliance policies, identity‑based access, and Conditional Access in coordination with cybersecurity teams. Develop automation and proactive remediation that improve device health, service reliability, and the employee technology experience. Provide advanced support for Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, mobile devices, meeting‑room technology, and assigned high‑touch user services. Support and improve virtual desktop services and resolve endpoint, application, profile, and session‑integration issues. Engineer and support enterprise print services, including secure printing, multifunction devices, scan‑to‑email, scan‑to‑folder, and associated management platforms. Evaluate, test, deploy, and support new end‑user technologies, platform upgrades, applications, and service enhancements. Support employee technology onboarding through device preparation, access validation, technology orientation, and targeted user guidance. Create reporting for endpoint health, deployment status, compliance, incidents, and service performance and recommend improvements based on the results. Develop support documentation, technical standards, knowledge articles, and user guidance; share knowledge with interns and associate engineers. The assigned portfolio may emphasize endpoint engineering, collaboration and meeting technology, executive technology services, or a combination based on business needs. Participate in scheduled after‑hours support, maintenance, or escalation coverage when required to support business operations.
