Job summary

The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, KS invites an experienced Director of Information Technology to guide strategic IT direction and operations. You will partner with academic and administrative leaders to drive technology solutions for teaching, research, and business processes.

You will lead IT governance, cybersecurity, and service management while mentoring staff, managing budgets, and aligning initiatives with the university's mission and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a Director or Manager role, preferably in higher education or not-for-profit.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across departments and stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, endpoint management, and modern IT administration practices.
• Experience leading IT service management initiatives and process improvements (ITIL).
• Ability to develop operational metrics and executive-level reports to inform decision‑making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the University's information technology strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Lead IT services and initiatives with emphasis on service excellence, continuity, and modernization.
• Oversee governance, policies, risk, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Build collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, executives, and external vendors.
• Manage department budgets and cross-functional technology initiatives.
