Job summary

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) is seeking an experienced Director of IT to lead end-to-end management of database systems, ETL, and cloud infrastructure. Role involves oversight, mentorship, and vendor management to modernize legacy systems and support agency mission.

Responsibilities include data migration, Azure optimization, security policy governance, and Agile-driven IT projects across multiple locations in NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience related to IT projects/policies.
• 5+ years’ experience managing IT teams, setting performance goals, and coaching.
• 7+ years’ experience in CRM systems, ETL processes, and cloud infrastructure.
• 7+ years of experience in SQL.
• Proven track record recovering systems after failures.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work pro-actively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to travel within NYC boroughs as needed.
• Experience with Salesforce CRM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead data migration and integration for modernization projects.
• Implement and manage infrastructure for Informatica, MS SQL, Oracle, and Databricks.
• Ensure Informatica tools operate reliably through repository management.
• Manage and optimize Azure cloud services for cost efficiency.
• Define and maintain data security policies, IAM, and procedures.
• Monitor data security, integrity, and availability.
• Identify system exposures and develop remediation plans.
• Support application development with security design guidance.
• Provide on-call support for production issues.
• Administer internal controls to ensure data integrity.
• Investigate outages and drive resolutions.
• Lead database and ETL projects using Agile methods.
• Develop TLC cloud platform infrastructure across locations.
• Manage technology projects and programs as assigned.
