Job description

Introduction to the role

ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. We design, develop, integrate, market, and service these advanced machines, which enable our customers, the world’s leading chipmakers, to reduce the size and increase the functionality of their microchips, which in turn leads to smaller, more powerful consumer electronics. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.

The IT DevOps Application Engineer plays a key role in supporting ASML’s Engineering Workspace environment, including Windows-based virtual desktops, Linux High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure, simulation software, and cloud-based CI/CD pipelines. As part of a global DevOps team, you will support engineering users across the United States and Europe while contributing to the deployment, testing, automation, and continuous improvement of engineering applications and services. This role combines operational support with development-focused activities to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of the Engineering Workspace platform.

  • Collaborate with second-line IT support teams, software vendors, and infrastructure teams to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Deploy, configure, validate, and maintain engineering and simulation applications in Windows and Citrix environments.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated functional application testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines to improve software quality and deployment efficiency.
  • Drive automation initiatives that increase system reliability, reduce manual effort, and improve end-user productivity.
  • Participate in Agile/DevOps practices, contributing to system enhancements, release activities, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor platform performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve availability, scalability, and user experience.
  • Support migration and modernization initiatives involving desktop, virtual desktop, and cloud-based technologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
