Job summary

Nelnet, Inc. seeks an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex software development and cloud transformation projects within the NDS IT Delivery group.

You will bridge technical execution and strategic delivery, guiding cross‑functional teams from inception through post‑implementation, with a focus on AI‑driven initiatives. You will apply Agile and hybrid methodologies, manage risks and dependencies, and leverage AI tools to drive productivity and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• PMP or PMI-ACP certification preferred.
• Cloud platform coursework or certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP or AI/ML fundamentals are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct cross‑functional project teams to deliver software development, cloud, and AI initiatives.
• Lead SDLC activities including design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Manage cloud migration projects across infra, architecture, security teams.
• Champion AI tools to improve team productivity and implement AI capabilities.
• Define project plans, schedules, budgets, milestones, and resource needs.
• Ensure requirements are well understood and traceable throughout delivery.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects to ensure scalable solutions.
• Oversee staff and budget resources to meet changing priorities.
• Guide operations with Agile or hybrid methodologies.
• Report progress with quality, performance, and delivery metrics.
