IT Datacenter Technician - US, New Jersey - Permanent Contract

QCS staffing is partnered with one of the world’s top AI infrastructure companies. As an organization, our client is leading a new era in cloud computing to serve the global AI economy. They create tools and resources for their customers to solve real-world challenges and transform industries, without massive infrastructure costs or the need to build large in-house AI/ML teams.

To support our client’s continued growth, they are currently looking to hire an IT Datacenter Technician in New Jersey.

Responsibilities:
  1. Diagnose and resolve issues related to IT hardware to ensure continuous support of the data center’s IT infrastructure.
  2. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external contractors to address technical and operational challenges.
  3. Install, upgrade, and dismantle hardware based on operational requests and requirements.
  4. Manage and maintain the connectivity of fiber optic cables and patch cords.
  5. Plan, execute, and monitor regular IT tasks to maintain and improve IT infrastructure operations.
  6. Process Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) in compliance with established manuals and procedures.
  7. Develop clear and comprehensive documentation and manuals for hardware configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  8. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including teams and executives.
Requirements:
  1. Extensive hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues.
  2. A solid understanding of data center operations, server, and network equipment principles.
  3. Basic proficiency in Linux operating system and familiarity with command-line tools.
  4. Practical experience working with server IT hardware, enterprise-grade network switches, and fiber optic cables.
  5. Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, lists, and graph creation.
  6. A proactive, responsible, and goal-oriented approach to work.
