Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin, TX is seeking an Information Technology Contracts Attorney IV to work in the OCC Legal Services Division. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IT contracts, licensing agreements, and related procurement documents, while providing legal advice on complex contracting matters.

The role requires five years of legal practice with IT contracts and familiarity with state and federal procurement laws.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with a JD.
• Active Texas State Bar membership or eligibility is required.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating IT contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, revise, and draft complex IT contracts, licenses, and procurement documents.
• Support negotiations with vendors and advise staff on contracts.
• Advise on federal and state contract laws and regulations and represent the agency in procurement matters.
• Draft legal opinions, briefs, and other documents as needed.
