Job summary

Golden 1 Credit Union is seeking an Operations Center Technician to monitor system alerts, run batch processes, and follow documented procedures to ensure reliability and frontline efficiency.

You will assess incident severity, initiate resolutions, back up data, perform VMS startup/shutdown, and maintain compliance with credit union regulations.

This role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and flexibility to cover shifting schedules in IT operations.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years experience with data processing and operating systems concepts.
• 1+ years experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor alerts, batch processes, and perform scheduled system checks.
• Determine severity of problems and initiate resolution per escalation procedures.
• Monitor and control computer operations workflow; adjust configurations and schedules.
• Monitor console instructions, errors, and malfunctions to determine proper procedures.
• Monitor and perform regular backups and data restores.
• Complete shutdown and startup procedures on the VMS host.
• Familiar with normal operating procedures and execute daily procedures independently.
• Document issues in turnover docs, tickets, and email.
• Alternate schedules may be required to cover shortages or high volume.
• Maintain understanding of state and federal laws related to credit union compliance.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Monitor alerts, batch processes, and perform scheduled system checks. Follow documented procedures for any abnormalities and/or escalate to the appropriate group.
• Determine severity of problem, issue, or alarm and initiates problem resolution as appropriate; following standard escalation procedures for incident/problem tracking and resolution. Interact with support personnel on incident resolution.
• Monitors and controls computer operations workflow. Modifies and maintains system configurations and production schedules to meet changing priorities, system capabilities and performance objectives.
• Monitors and analyzes console instructions, queries, error messages, machine malfunctions, stops, schedules, programs and DCL information to determine proper operating procedures.
• Monitors and performs regular backup and restores of all data.
• Complete shutdown and startup procedures on the VMS host system.
• Familiar with all normal operating procedures and capable of processing daily procedure independently.
• Properly document issues as appropriate within turnover documents, ticketing system, and email.
• Alternate work schedules may be required to cover for staff shortages or high volume periods.
• Maintains a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
• Performs other job-related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICIATIONS AND PREFERENCES:

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
• 1+ years One to three years of experience with data processing and operating systems concepts required
• 1+ years One to three years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment required
