IT Communications and Construction Coordinator

Overview: Berkshire Hathaway Automotive is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented IT Communications and Construction Coordinator to oversee all IT-related needs during remodeling and new construction projects. The primary responsibilities include coordinating network cabling, circuits, cut-overs, and physical moves of IT equipment such as routers, switches, access points, and telephony gear. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously with minimal disruption to operations. Knowledge of automotive dealership operations is highly preferred.

This position is full-time and onsite at our Headquarters in Irving, Texas.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all IT-related aspects of remodeling and new construction projects, including network infrastructure, cabling, circuit installations, and cut-overs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate execution of IT requirements within project timelines and budgets.
  • Manage physical moves of IT equipment, including routers, switches, access points, telephony gear, PCs, printers, and phones.
  • Plan and schedule moves and installations to minimize disruption.
  • Assess project requirements and develop implementation plans in collaboration with IT teams.
  • Track multiple projects, ensuring completion within schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate telecom replacement projects, including transition to VOIP cloud-based systems.
  • Oversee migration from copper circuits to fiber-based products.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards during installations and moves.
  • Conduct site surveys and develop infrastructure solutions.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years in project coordination or management, preferably in construction or IT.
  • Knowledge of automotive dealership operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cabling standards, and telecom systems.
  • Experience with physical moves of IT equipment.
  • Familiarity with PC, printer, and phone installations and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and high-quality results.
  • Willingness to travel across US dealership locations.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Pre-employment testing, including background check and drug screen, required.
