Job summary

BRMi is seeking an IT Infrastructure Cable Technician to support a large financial services client onsite in Pensacola, FL. The role involves assembling, installing, and maintaining copper and fiber-optic cabling and related infrastructure, with a 6am–2:30pm schedule and project-based flex.

Requires 2+ years in cable installations and familiarity with BICSI standards. Responsibilities include site surveys, pathway selection, equipment installation, and overseeing third-party cabling work.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience performing cable-infrastructure installation services.
• Familiarity with BICSI standards, cabling standards, and related certifications.
• Experience installing and supporting structured cabling systems in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and arrange materials and equipment.
• Review and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, requirements, and installation instructions.
• Run, pull, terminate, and splice copper and fiber-optic cabling, including CAT5, CAT6, low-voltage, and fiber-optic cable.
• Install and mount telecommunications equipment in accordance with industry standards, manufacturer requirements, and established best practices.
• Install and support network infrastructure components, including routers, hubs, switches, racks, ladder racks, and J-hooks.
• Install access-control systems, surveillance cameras, wireless access points, and related devices.
• Select and verify cable pathways.
• Conduct site surveys.
• Assist with designing, developing, and implementing cabling standards and specifications.
• Oversee cabling projects performed by third-party contractors.
• Maintain documentation related to the cabling infrastructure.
• Install cable-support systems and pull network cabling through approved pathways.
• Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cable installations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Overview

BRMi is seeking an IT Infrastructure Cable Technician to support a large financial services client onsite in Pensacola, FL. Hours: 6am – 2:30 pm with a flex schedule based on projects. Experience level is 1-5 years with preference being over 2 years.

The Technician coordinates, monitors, administers, and services technical environments. Completes implementations, performs integration activities, and provides operational support for technical environments.
