Barrett Petfood in Little Falls, Minnesota, is seeking an IT Business Systems Lead to optimize ERP and MES landscapes and drive system improvements across manufacturing and operations.

The role collaborates with manufacturing, finance, and supply chain teams, leads Plex ERP initiatives, and ensures data integrity and reliable reporting. A strong vendor management orientation and hands-on support are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT/IS/Business/Engineering.
• 5+ years supporting/administering/implementing ERP, MES, or enterprise systems.
• Manufacturing ERP experience preferred.
• Plex ERP experience preferred or ability to ramp quickly on a new platform.
• Experience with vendors and system improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day performance, reliability, configuration, administration, and support of Barrett's ERP (Plex), MES, and related business systems.
• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, finance, quality, and other teams to translate business needs into practical tech solutions.
• Manage relationships with ERP, MES, integration, development, and other technology vendors, including support and escalations.
• Lead system enhancements, upgrades, new modules, integrations, and process-improvement initiatives.
• Identify and prioritize business systems initiatives with IT leadership.
• Evaluate systems to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved user experience.
• Oversee system integrations, EDI processes, and reliable data flow between business apps.
• Ensure integrity, availability, security, backup, recovery, and continuity of systems and data.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues with internal resources and vendors.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing practices.
• Support reliable reporting and access to business information with data/analytics teams.
• Provide leadership and guidance around business systems and future growth.

Resposibilities

• Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize business systems initiatives as needs evolve.
• Evaluate systems and business processes to identify opportunities for automation, standardization, simplification, and improved user experience.
• Oversee system integrations, EDI processes, and reliable data flow between business applications.
• Partner with IT Operations to help ensure the integrity, availability, security, backup, recovery, and continuity of business systems and data.
• Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of complex system issues, engaging internal resources and vendors as appropriate.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and knowledge-sharing practices to reduce organizational dependency on individual system knowledge.
• Partner with data and analytics resources to support reliable reporting and access to business information.
• Provide leadership and guidance around business systems and support the future growth of the business systems function.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's in IT/IS/Business/Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years supporting/administering/implementing ERP, MES, or enterprise systems
• Manufacturing ERP experience (strongly preferred)
• Plex ERP experience (strongly preferred) or ability to ramp quickly on a new platform
• Experience with vendors and system improvement initiatives

Location

This position is based in Little Falls, Minnesota, and an on-site presence is strongly preferred due to the role's partnership with manufacturing and operational teams. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and overall fit for the role.

A hybrid arrangement may be considered for the right candidate. Candidates should be located within Minnesota or within reasonable traveling distance of Little Falls and able to be on-site regularly and as business needs require.
