Job summary

Whitley Penn, a leading audit, tax, and advisory firm, seeks a Business Systems Analyst to bridge business needs and software teams. You’ll gather requirements, document BRDs, support Agile processes, and coordinate UAT across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related role.
• Experience eliciting and documenting business and system requirements.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate meetings and discovery sessions with business stakeholders to identify business needs and objectives.
• Create and maintain BRDs, process flows, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Clarify requirements and provide ongoing support to developers.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
• Help maintain sprint backlogs and monitor sprint progress.
• Coordinate testing activities with business users and project stakeholders.

Title: Business System Analyst

Classification: Full-time; Exempt

Department: Information Technology - Software Development

Office Expectations/Hours: Hybrid position; general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day between 8am to 5pm with overtime, as needed.
