Job summary

Whitley Penn in Dallas is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to bridge business stakeholders and software teams, gathering requirements and supporting Agile processes.

You will document BRDs, use cases, and user stories, coordinate UAT, and help drive process improvements while collaborating with IT and business partners in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Facilitate meetings and discovery sessions with business stakeholders to identify business needs and objectives.
• Create and maintain BRDs, process flows, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
• Act as the liaison between business users and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Clarify requirements and provide ongoing support to developers.
• Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
• Help maintain sprint backlogs and monitor sprint progress.
• Coordinate testing activities with business users and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Bachelors degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst.
• Experience eliciting and documenting business and system requirements.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and UAT.

Title: Business System Analyst

Classification: Full-time; Exempt

Department: Information Technology - Software Development

Office Expectations/Hours: Hybrid position; general work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8 hours/day between 8am to 5pm with overtime, as needed.

What You Need to Get Here

• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience planning and executing User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
