Job summary

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking a budget-focused IT financial analyst to support the CIO in developing and implementing the IT annual financial plan. You will balance operating and capital budgets, run variance analyses, and prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for executive review.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, 4+ years in budgeting or procurement, and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or a related field is required.
• 4+ years of experience in budget, procurement, project management and/or statistical analysis. IT environment experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and Pivot Tables proficiency; familiarity with budget systems and SharePoint; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Constructs, reviews, analyzes, evaluates and oversees the IT budget.
• Prepares spending authorizations for executive review and Board approval.
• Ensures IT financial information is accurate in METRO’s budget system.
• Performs IT variance analysis and develops revenue/expense projections and reports.
• Creates monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presents findings to CIO and IT management.
