Job summary

BNSF Railway in Fort Worth, TX offers a Summer Intern position in the Audit Department, providing hands-on projects, mentoring, and exposure to governance, risk management, and internal controls within a major rail operation.

You will work with the audit team on IT processes such as application development, infrastructure, and security; strong communication and teamwork are valued, with potential pathway to full-time Management Trainee after graduation.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or business related discipline from an accredited university.
• Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.

Responsibilities

• Conduct audits of IT processes including application development, infrastructure, telecommunications, positive train control, security, and operational technologies.
• Manage work assignments and timelines.
• Develop detailed test procedures that address audit objectives and significant risks, under supervision.
• Interpret and evaluate audit evidence.
• Document work performed with logical conclusions and appropriate audit evidence and support.
• Present audit results, both in written and verbal formats.
• Possess leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to overcome obstacles and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
• Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.
