Job summary

Peek IT Services in Reston, VA is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management (ITAM) analyst to drive a software asset management modernization using Flexera. This long-term W2 contract follows a hybrid work model, with typically one or two days in the office.

You will manage the full ITAM lifecycle, ensure license compliance, perform renewals and reconciliations, and collaborate across IT, security, Finance, Legal and vendors to optimize costs and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as ITAM analyst working with Flexera.
• Hands-on SAM across software lifecycle.
• Experience with license compliance and true-up activities.
• Experience aligning asset data with a CMDB.
• Ability to build reporting and dashboards on software and usage.
• Experience supporting vendor governance and contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage software asset management activities across the full lifecycle, including intake, request, approval, procurement support, assignment, entitlement tracking, renewal, reclamation and compliance review
• Maintain accurate software asset records covering licenses, entitlements, subscriptions, renewals, service agreements, contracts, warranties, vendor contacts, application owners, usage data and lifecycle information
• Analyze software asset data to identify unused licenses, duplicate applications, renewal risks, data gaps, compliance issues, shadow IT indicators and cost optimization opportunities
• Perform license reconciliation, usage review, exception reporting, audit evidence gathering and SLA health check activities
• Generate and distribute reports and trend analyses on software, compliance, renewal, usage, lifecycle and vendor performance
• Support vendor governance activities including catalog updates, renewal tracking, SLA review, billing accuracy reviews and contract validation
• Partner with ITAM, Procurement, Finance, Security, Legal, Workforce, Endpoint, Support Center, Product, application owners and vendor teams
• Identify process gaps, recommend improvements, and contribute to knowledge base articles and SOPs

Job description

You will support a software asset management modernization effort, managing contract, entitlement, renewal, usage, ownership, compliance and vendor data across the enterprise. This is a long‑term W2 contract with hybrid work in Reston, VA, typically one or two days per week in the office. If you have deep Flexera experience and enjoy turning messy license data into governed, cost‑effective outcomes, this role will use that skill daily.

• Manage software asset management activities across the full lifecycle, including intake, request, approval, procurement support, assignment, entitlement tracking, renewal, reclamation, retirement and compliance review
• Maintain accurate software asset records covering licenses, entitlements, subscriptions, renewals, service agreements, contracts, warranties, vendor contacts, application owners, usage data and lifecycle information
• Analyze software asset data to identify unused licenses, duplicate applications, renewal risks, data gaps, compliance issues, shadow IT indicators and cost optimization opportunities
• Perform license reconciliation, usage review, exception reporting, audit evidence gathering and SLA health check activities

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as an ITAM analyst working with Flexera
• Hands‑on software asset management experience across the software lifecycle
• Experience with software license compliance, true-up activities and audit evidence preparation
• Experience aligning asset data with a CMDB
• Ability to build reporting and dashboards on software, compliance, renewal and usage data
• Experience supporting vendor governance, renewal reviews and contract or billing validation
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritize effectively and escape risks or blockers early
• Ability to participate in onsite meetings, vendor reviews, audits and cross‑functional working sessions as needed
• Able to work on a W2 basis
