Job summary

Lancesoft, located in Savannah, GA, seeks an experienced IT professional to design, develop, test, and implement complex enterprise application software across client, server, and middleware components. You will create advanced algorithms, translate data designs into databases, and drive performance and reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant curriculum is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Eight (8) years of experience as an IT professional, with broad experience across multiple IT disciplines.
• A master’s degree may be used to offset one year of experience; a Ph.D. may offset two years of experience.
• Demonstrates expertise in one or more software development languages.
• ITIL exposure is desired.
• Proficiency with an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) is desired.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is desired.

Job description

Position Purpose

Designs, develops, tests, and implements complex enterprise application software, including client, server, and middleware components. This includes designing and building complex algorithms and data structures, as well as application performance monitoring and tuning.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions

• Creates complex software designs at the component level based on the application architecture and detailed business requirements.
• Develops complex algorithms and data structures.
• Assists with the translation of logical data designs into physical database designs.
• Develops strategies for monitoring, preventive maintenance, and disaster recovery of complex applications.
• Serves as a technical expert in one or more applications within a portfolio.
• Ensures that solution designs meet requirements for scalability, performance, and quality in accordance with negotiated service-level agreements.
• Participates in the assessment and resolution of complex software defects.
• Assists project management with the development of work breakdown structures, project plans, and the identification of skills required to develop and implement applications.
• Participates in design reviews for implementation projects.
• Conducts technical evaluations.
• Leads the review, business case development, and implementation of software development tools, methodologies, and software development standards.
• Understands IS security measures, current standards, practices, and technologies.

Additional Functions

• Serves as a liaison with suppliers for sustaining activities.
• Assists with the evaluation of and recommendations regarding purchased software packages and supporting services.
• Supports management in recruiting and hiring.
• Uses knowledge of technology and existing systems to mentor junior staff in building and maintaining application systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:
