State of Louisiana is seeking an IT Applications Developer to join the Office of State Examiner, Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service. At the Office of State Examiner, Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service, our mission is to provide support and guidance to local jurisdictions who administer an effective, cost‑efficient civil service system based upon merit, efficiency, fitness, and length of service, consistent with the law and professional standards, for firefighters and police officers in the State, in order to provide a continuity in quality of law enforcement and fire protection for the citizens of the State in rural and urban areas.
We are looking for an IT Applications Developer to join our team. The IT Application Developer will support and advance OSE’s technology systems, including the new Jurisdiction Management System and testing databases. This position leads the development, integration, and maintenance of applications using Microsoft Power Apps, SQL Server, Microsoft Access and cloud‑based solutions through system analysis, user support, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and continuous improvement based upon stakeholder feedback.

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
