Drive architectural decisions and best practices across teams to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of mission-critical applications. Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into innovative technical solutions.
Evaluate and integrate technologies and frameworks to drive innovation and improve processes.
Mentor junior engineers to elevate quality and promote best practices. Participate in capacity planning and performance troubleshooting, performing root cause analysis and implementing robust solutions.

As an IT Application Engineer for international POS systems, focus on driving operational excellence within our SAFe framework. Manage a backlog of improvements for UK and Canadian stores, focusing on system performance and reliability. Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to progress high-priority items, provide daily support for critical POS functions, participate in SAFe ceremonies, and engage in architecture discussions. Mentoring junior staff and translating stakeholder requirements into innovative solutions are key parts of your role.
We are a small, dynamic team responsible for POS systems in WWGST's Canadian and UK Whole Foods Market stores. Our work ensures smooth operations at these international retail locations. We collaborate closely with third-party vendors, operations partners, product teams, and other technical/support teams across WWGST to optimize our POS solutions and improve operational excellence.
BA/BS degree with 3-6 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
MS degree with 6-8 years’ relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
