Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking an Application Development Engineer with 4+ years of experience in scalable Java software and enterprise web delivery.

You will design, implement, and integrate Adobe AEM/AEP/AMS solutions within an agile team to deliver high-quality content and services for customers. The ideal candidate has strong OO design, design patterns, and hands-on experience with SDLC, plus experience with Adobe marketing tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years building scalable production software with Java and OO design.
  • 4+ years enterprise web content development with full SDLC.
  • Experience implementing Adobe AEM 6.5 and AEP.
  • Experience with CMS serving large user bases.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement efficient content models, security models, workflows and templates.
  • Design and implement customized Adobe AEM solutions leveraging AMS and AEP.
  • Deliver solutions by writing clean, reusable code following standards.
  • Customize and integrate solutions using AEM, AEP, and Adobe Target.
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement efficient content models, security models, workflows and templates.
  • Design and implement customized Adobe AEM solutions and components leveraging current Adobe AEM/Adobe Managed Services (AMS) & Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) software releases.
  • Deliver solutions by writing clean, efficient, and reusable code by following established coding standards.
  • Customize, integrate and deliver solutions by using multiple Adobe services such as AEM, AEP and Adobe Target.
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high‑quality software.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about creating new products, features, and services by using Adobe AEM, Adobe Managed Services (AMS), and Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) Developer experiences, while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development cycles are measured in weeks, not years.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience building scalable and extensible production software systems with Java, object‑oriented design and design patterns.
  • 4+ years of enterprise level web content development & delivery with full SDLC.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing Adobe AEM 6.5 and AEP.
  • Experience implementing web Content Management Systems (CMS) serving very large number of user base.
  • Superior problem solving, organizational, decision‑making, written, oral and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment.
  • Experience in a test‑driven and formal QA development environment, including development, staging, production (or equivalent) deployment cycles.
  • Experience with AEP (Adobe Experience Platform).
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics & Adobe Target.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and optional Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
