Job summary

Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. is seeking a Software Application Developer to design, build, implement, and maintain software to meet business needs.

You will participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle and collaborate with management and business users to translate requirements into working solutions. The role focuses on writing clean, scalable code, thorough unit testing, and delivering ad hoc reports while adhering to industry standards and continuously improving system

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Collaborate with SIA management and business users to define system requirements and specifications.
• Write program code to translate requirements into functioning applications.
• Design application databases and/or database changes in collaboration with Database Administrator(s).
• Produce efficient, scalable, readable code that satisfies requirements and meets standards.
• Unit test all deliverables, participate in system testing and user acceptance testing.
• Modify software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware or runtimes, improve performance, or upgrade interfaces.
• Lead and/or support continuous improvement to improve functionality and performance.
• Deliver ad hoc reports and data extracts as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

Master's Degree preferred

Software application developers function as computer software engineers who design, build, implement, and maintain computer software applications to meet business needs. Software application developers conduct software analysis, program, test, and debug software. Software application developers maintain and support both new and existing applications to enhance function and maintain or improve performance.

Essential Job Functions

6. Thoroughly unit test all technical deliverables, participate in system testing and support user acceptance testing as needed
7. Modify software to fix errors, adapt to new hardware or runtimes, improve performance, or upgrade interfaces or component versions
8. Lead and/or support continuous improvement activities to improve application functionality and performance
9. Deliver ad hoc reports and data extracts as needed
10. All other duties as assigned
