Qualifications

  • Experience with standards Microsoft technologies and listed applications; regulated environment knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate logging of incidents and service requests in the Service Desk system (JIRA).
  • Responsible for management and timely resolution of Service Desk tickets.
  • Escalate tickets as needed and communicate with users professionally.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and maintain documentation in the knowledge base.
  • Assist with PC setups/desk moves and basic hardware maintenance.
  • Occasional travel to data center or other offices within the region.

Job description

The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability, and security for the business. Reporting to the COO, Technology provides digital tools, software services, and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile ‘streams’ aligned to specific business areas. Our other teams work enterprise-wide to provide critical services including our global service desk, network and system infrastructure, IT operations, security, enterprise architecture, and design.

IT runs Marex’s enterprise-wide services to end users and actively manages the firm’s infrastructure and data to provide and accelerate business value. A Data team enables the firm to leverage data to increase productivity and improve business decisions, as well as maintain data compliance. The Infrastructure group delivers operations and engineering across Infrastructure Operations, Network, Communications, Endpoint and Platform Engineering teams with a key focus on Infrastructure as Code/automation & innovation. IT also includes the global IT Service Desk providing support and self-service to business users across Marex, and our Service Management team that runs core ITSM processes and develops our departmental tooling.

The Service Desk Team is responsible for the general IT/desktop and voice infrastructure support for their assigned region. The team works closely with other IT departments and different lines of business.

Overall Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate logging of all incidents, services requests, and changes in the Service Desk system (JIRA)
  • Responsible for management and timely resolution of Service Desk tickets
  • Practice effective escalation of tickets needed
  • Deal with all users in a professional and efficient manner
  • Collaborate and share best practices with other IT team members through our internal knowledge base system
  • Support standard Microsoft technologies, phones, and trading applications
  • Build, image, upgrade, and maintain both laptops and desktops
  • Document and maintain new technologies and identify how they can help the business
  • Ensure technical skills are kept up to date with company requirements
  • Endeavor to align working practices to ITIL framework where appropriate
  • Manage PC setups/desk moves as required
  • Act as lead for additional ad hoc responsibilities for the team, including entering IT invoices in PeopleSoft, handling moves and logistics, etc.
  • Occasional travel to Data Center and other offices in the assigned region may be required
  • Understand and comply with any Sarbanes Oxley operational requirements relevant to their role
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in banking/financial services highly desired
  • Experience with the following technologies preferred: Standard Microsoft, Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Windows Serve (AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO), Microsoft Exchange/Office365, Cisco Call Manager
  • Experience with the following applications: Bloomberg, TT, IceChat, WebIce, Future Source, Citrix, Cloud9, Office 365, LMESelect, Fidesa, Neon, CQG, OMS Options City, IOA (Whentech), Reuters, Mimecast, Global Protect, CrowdStrike, Teams, CME, Trayport
  • Experience in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements
