Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team in a challenging cybersecurity environment. The role focuses on ensuring security posture of mission-critical systems, supporting compliance, managing risk, and enforcing policies in collaboration with government stakeholders.

The candidate should have strong knowledge of security regulations, be adaptable, and possess excellent communication skills to drive information security initiatives forward.

Qualifications

• Experience with federal/DoD/IC cybersecurity regulations and RMF/NIST 800-53.
• Experience producing and maintaining SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and Continuous Monitoring plans.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, DoD, and IC cybersecurity regulations and standards (NIST 800-53, RMF, ICD 503, CNSS, DoD STIGs, FISMA, FedRAMP).
• Maintain and update security documentation (SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, Continuous Monitoring Plans).
• Coordinate security assessments, audits, and inspections with stakeholders.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide risk mitigation recommendations.
• Oversee system authorization activities per RMF.
• Monitor security posture, incident response, and remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with ISSEs, admins, and PMs to integrate security across lifecycle.
• Provide security awareness training to users.
