Job summary

AM Pierce & Associates is seeking an Information System Security Officer to support cyber security operations for a DoD customer in Lexington Park, MD. The role emphasizes RMF, eMASS artifacts, and continuous monitoring, with a requirement for a DoD Secret clearance.

The position is on-site with a strong focus on reporting, control implementation, and documentation across NIST 800-53 controls and POA&M management. Bachelor's degree and 2+ years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in systems security.
• Ability to communicate effectively and present technical approaches.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detection, identification, and reporting of cyber-attacks, intrusions, and anomalies using CND tools.
• Support security events and incident correlation gathering information from diverse sources.
• Prepare artifacts for eMASS ATO packages, including SSPs and SCTMs with evidence.
• Verify configurations against NIST 800-53 controls and document gaps.
• Manage POA&M tracking, remediation, and closure with appropriate evidence.
• Coordinate with ISSEs and engineering to gather evidence and validate controls.
• Support continuous monitoring activities and reassessment of control effectiveness.
• Track authorization expiration dates and lead re-authorization efforts.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation in eMASS for assigned systems.
