Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS seeks an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support cybersecurity compliance and the security posture of assigned information systems. The role covers RMF activities, authorization upkeep, access reviews, and coordination with stakeholders to track vulnerabilities and incidents.

The ideal candidate has a Secret clearance, 8+ years of relevant experience, and a Bachelor's degree, with strong documentation and communication skills to ensure DoD and federal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Active Secret clearance.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with RMF, A&A, cybersecurity compliance, and eMASS.

Responsibilities

• Support system authorization, RMF, and continuous monitoring activities.
• Maintain security documentation and authorization artifacts in eMASS.
• Review and validate user access requests, training, clearance, and need to know.
• Track cybersecurity vulnerabilities, incidents, and remediation efforts.
• Coordinate with ISSM, system owners, administrators, and government stakeholders.
• Support audits, inspections, risk assessments, and security control reviews.
• Help ensure compliance with approved security configurations and STIGs.
• Assist with contingency planning, disaster recovery, and backup or recovery testing.
