Job summary

PLEXSYS is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to ensure the secure operation of information systems. The role collaborates with the ISSM, CPSO, and FSO to implement RMF, JSIG, and NIST guidelines across multiple locations.

The ISSO reports to the Corporate Information Assurance Manager and will manage changes to security packages, and monitor security controls, audits, and incident handling in line with DoD regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or four years of related experience.
• DoD 8570 compliant, IAT Level II.
• Experience with Windows-based information systems administration.
• Familiarity with RMF, HIPAA, PCI DSS, or equivalent compliance standards.
• Strong networking, Active Directory, centralized logging, and vulnerability scanning skills.
• Experience with information system security audits.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a team or independently.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS clearance with SAP/SCI access.

Responsibilities

• Lead the information system security program for assigned location.
• Establish and maintain accreditation of classified information systems.
• Implement security procedures in line with DoD regulations.
• Ensure patching, antivirus updates, continuous monitoring, trainings, and self-inspections.
• Develop, implement and maintain security emergency action plans.
• Provide security education and training to local employees.
• Maintain administrative security records and documents for local employees.
• Conduct self-inspections and random security inspections.
• Conduct system audits per accreditation package requirements.
• Conduct vulnerability scans and analysis.
• Maintain networks, systems, and hardware; perform upgrades.
• Follow RMF/JAFAN/JSIG/NIST guidelines for accreditation.
