Job summary

VIATEQ Corporation is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) / Control Evaluator in Washington, DC. The role supports RMF, NIST-based assessment, and continuous monitoring across diverse systems for a federal civilian agency.

The position requires a deep understanding of security controls, documentation, and audit support, with potential for hybrid/remote work as approved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in information security with at least 3 years as ISSO or equivalent.
• Experience developing SSPs, SAPs, SARs, and POAMs in a federal environment.
• Hands-on experience with a GRC tool for documentation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain in-depth knowledge of assigned systems and architecture.
• Establish rapport with system owners and stakeholders to align cybersecurity requirements.
• Maintain system documentation (SSPs, topologies, data flows) and access to monitoring tools.
• Produce control status visuals and dashboards from enterprise tools.
• Support OA, FISMA, and audit activities and respond to government feedback.
