Job summary

VIATEQ Corporation is seeking a Security Control Assessor to support a federal government cybersecurity program in Washington, DC. The role emphasizes independent evaluation of security and privacy controls across enterprise IT, including on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NIST SP 800-53 assessments, SARs, and RMF/ATO activities, and be capable of delivering detailed, compliant assessment artifacts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with NIST SP 800-53 security and privacy controls assessments.
• Experience developing Security Assessment Plans (SAPs) and Security Assessment Reports (SARs).
• Familiarity with RMF lifecycle, ATO processes, and ongoing authorization activities.
• Ability to produce thorough artifacts meeting federal documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and report on security and privacy controls assessments for federal information systems.
• Develop SAPs and SARs aligned to NIST SP 800-53A methodologies and agency procedures.
• Support RMF lifecycle from planning through final report delivery and POA&M development.
• Collaborate with ISSOs, system owners, and Government stakeholders to ensure timely deliverables.
• Conduct OA testing and document results in the agency GRC tool.
