Job summary

Blue Sky Innovators, Inc. seeks an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with TS/SCI to join our Arlington, VA team. You will lead security programs and ensure compliance with government regulations while protecting sensitive data.

You will develop and maintain security policies, manage ATOs, conduct assessments, coordinate with government agencies, and guide incident response efforts. A strong background in NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• TS/SCI clearance.
• 5+ years of information security experience in government defense contracting.
• Deep knowledge of government security regulations and standards (NIST SP 800-171, DFARS, ITAR).
• Experience with security technologies: firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption.
• Strong security risk management and incident response experience.
• Familiarity with CERT/CISA advisories and JSIG.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and controls in compliance with government regulations.
• Maintains Authorities to Operate (ATO) status.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with government agencies, auditors, and stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Manage security tools and technologies (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, encryption).
• Provide guidance on security best practices and procedures.
• Stay current on emerging threats and technologies in defense and cybersecurity.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and government stakeholders on security posture and compliance.
