Job summary

Missionovo is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to design, implement, and sustain secure mission systems. You will work with engineers, security professionals, and stakeholders to ensure security requirements are met throughout the system lifecycle, from architecture through operations.

This role appeals to those who enjoy integrating security into system design, supporting authorization efforts, and strengthening resilience across enterprise and mission platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in information assurance, cybersecurity engineering, or system security.
• Experience supporting security authorization in government or classified environments.
• Familiarity with RMF, risk management, and lifecycle security integration.
• Experience developing or maintaining security documentation and artifacts.
• Understanding of network, system, and application security principles.
• Strong analytical and collaborative communication skills.
• Ability to engage across technical teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Integrate security requirements into system architecture, design, and implementation.
• Assist with system authorization and accreditation across environments.
• Develop and maintain system security plans and supporting artifacts.
• Conduct security control assessments and remediation planning.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to apply secure configurations.
• Support vulnerability identification, tracking, and mitigation.
• Participate in risk assessments and recommend security controls.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure policy and standards compliance.
• Contribute to continuous monitoring and ongoing posture improvement.
