Job summary

MANTECH in Chantilly, VA is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer onsite with flexibility for San Diego, CA. The role focuses on RMF, security control design, and system hardening for Linux/RTOS across complex platforms.

Responsibilities include implementing security controls, supporting RMF artifacts in eMASS, and maintaining SIEM/logging pipelines (Splunk/ELK) while collaborating with ISSOs. Top Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Cybersecurity or related field with 2+ years RMF/cyber experience
• 2+ years Linux configuration or hardening; exposure to RTOS or Windows
• Active DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certs (Security+ CE, CySA+, CISSP)
• Experience with Nessus and Trellix tools
• Familiarity with eMASS and scripting for automation

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate technical security controls across the SDLC
• Support RMF execution, system categorization, and SSP/POA&M artifacts
• Configure, harden, and remediate Linux/RTOS environments; enforce DISA STIGs
• Operate Nessus and Trellix tools; analyze scans and plan remediations
• Manage log ingestion and SIEM platforms (Splunk/ELK) for monitoring
