Job summary

Akima Data Management (ADM) is seeking an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to design, engineer and validate cybersecurity capabilities across DoW OIG information systems. The role is based in Alexandria, VA, supporting the Cybersecurity Division with a focus on secure, resilient engineering practices.

The ISSE will implement security controls, maintain artifacts, and coordinate RMF authorization, leveraging NIST and Zero Trust principles while collaborating with engineers, operators,

Qualifications

• Active TOP SECRET with SCI clearance (required).
• IAM Level III certification (e.g., CGRC, CASP+ CE, CISSP, CISM) required; IAT Level III preferred.
• Strong understanding of NIST, FISMA, DoD, and organizational cybersecurity engineering frameworks.
• Vulnerability Management and Policy Writing Experience.

Responsibilities

• Define, refine, and validate security requirements based on mission objectives and policies.
• Design secure system architectures aligned with NIST, DoD, FedRAMP, and Zero Trust principles.
• Develop SSPs, system security plans, and RMF artifacts for authorization activities.
• Lead security architecture reviews, threat modeling, vulnerability assessments, and security impact analyses.
• Support incident response, risk reporting, and POA&M development.
