Job summary

Fort Madison Community School District seeks an Associate ISS Supervisor-Elementary to oversee students in in‑school suspension, ensuring a structured, safe environment and accountability for classwork during ISS. You will work with administrators and teachers to guide behavior and student progress.

Starting immediately, 8 hours/day over 178 days, at $12.35 per hour, reporting to Building Administration. Relevant CPI training and strong communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory CPI training
  • Attend work regularly and promptly—95% attendance
  • Ability to supervise students during ISS and enforce rules
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and disciplinary matters
  • Collaborate with staff to support reintegration into regular classes

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and supervise students in ISS, maintaining a calm, safe environment
  • Enforce policies consistently and fairly
  • Assist students with completing academic work and provide guidance
  • Communicate with teachers and administrators about behavior and progress
  • Maintain attendance, behavior, and work completion records during ISS
  • Escalate serious behavior issues to building administration
  • Support restorative practices and reintegration into regular classes
