Job summary

The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington seeks a full-time Program Associate for its Dr. Stuart Lessans Israel Action Center (IAC) and Education Programs and Services (EPS) departments. The role blends IAC and EPS duties (30-35% IAC, 65-70% EPS) under two directors.

The position involves coordinating student programs, Holocaust speakers, STS events, and teen Israel education initiatives. Evening/Sunday availability and confidentiality are required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years relevant work/internship experience in Jewish communal, teen and/or interfaith spaces.
• Able to manage detailed schedules and logistics.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter and independent worker with attention to detail.
• Ability to work with Jewish teens from diverse backgrounds and identities.
• Significant familiarity with Judaism, Israel and current challenges affecting Israel and Jews.
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and Sundays.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate logistics of Student to Student and Holocaust Speakers’ Bureau presentations.
• Participate in planning and implementation of STS orientations, events, and programs.
• Recruit STS student participants and partner schools.
• Create and implement new leadership enrichment program for STS group leaders.
• Mentor STS participants and provide feedback.
• Support the development and execution of Israel-related advocacy and educational programs.
• Organize events, webinars, and speaker series on Israel and U.S.-Israel relations.
• Partner with staff to design/adapt teen Israel education initiatives.
• Provide administrative and logistical support for Israel Action Center programs.
