Job Profile: Quality Control Manager (QCM)

ISO Services is a 40+ year old industrial service and construction company providing all disciplines of industrial maintenance and construction. We are a division of Ergon Construction Group, an Ergon, Inc. company. Our services include specialty trades (insulation, fireproofing, painting/coatings, scaffolding & heat tracing) in addition to our mechanical and civil capabilities.


Position Overview:

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality programs, procedures, and requirements for all industrial construction crafts. The QCM is also responsible for oversight and adherence to all quality programs. The QCM should be knowledgeable in all aspects of quality for multiple crafts in industrial maintenance and construction. The QCM must also have the soft skills necessary to develop positive relationships and inspire continuous improvement within all levels of the construction organization. Construction quality is ultimately driven by the direct craft performing the work. The QCM must value these employees and earn their trust while also holding them accountable. The QCM is part of the ISO Services leadership team reporting to the Vice-President, but also coordinating closely with project managers, HR, operation managers, and EHS.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality programs and procedures for all industrial construction crafts.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of company's existing mechanical quality control program to ensure conformance with current ASME stamps
  • Prepare and participate in the tri-annual review of ASME stamp certifications
  • Maintain training, testing, and qualification records for QC inspectors/technicians
  • Maintain all quality records for the company
  • Oversee and mentor QC field inspectors/technicians
  • Develop workforce training and development program, including the use of technical schools, community college, and industry standard course materials such as NCCER.
  • Provide reports to VP and Operations Managers with both past performance and future plans
  • Perform other duties as needed

Applicable Experience & Competencies:

  • 10+ years of QA/QC experience in an industrial setting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control of industrial/process piping systems
  • Experience preferred in other industrial crafts including concrete, electrical, instrumentation, coatings, insulation, and scaffolding.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, NACE)
  • AWS CWI certification is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to work independently with little direction
  • API 653 Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be physically able to work in a jobsite environment for extended periods to include bending, squatting, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, crouching, and reaching.
  • Must be physically able to work in extreme conditions including heavy rain, wind or excessive temperatures.
  • This position will be based in Flowood, MS or Holden, LA with regular travel required.
