Job Profile: Quality Control Manager (QCM)

Reports To: Vice President

Company Overview

ISO Services is a 40+ year old industrial service and construction company providing all disciplines of industrial maintenance and construction. We are a division of Ergon Construction Group, an Ergon, Inc. company. Our services include specialty trades (insulation, fireproofing, painting/coatings, scaffolding & heat tracing) in addition to our mechanical and civil capabilities.

Position Overview:

The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality programs, procedures, and requirements for all industrial construction crafts. The QCM oversees adherence to all quality programs and should be knowledgeable in all aspects of quality for multiple crafts in industrial maintenance and construction. The QCM must possess soft skills to develop positive relationships and inspire continuous improvement within all levels of the organization. Construction quality is driven by the craft workers performing the work; therefore, the QCM must value these employees, earn their trust, and hold them accountable. The QCM is part of the ISO Services leadership team, reporting to the Vice President, and collaborates closely with project managers, HR, operations, and EHS teams.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain quality programs and procedures for all industrial construction crafts.
  2. Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's existing mechanical quality control program to ensure conformance with current ASME stamps.
  3. Prepare and participate in the tri-annual review of ASME stamp certifications.
  4. Maintain training, testing, and qualification records for QC inspectors/technicians.
  5. Maintain all quality records for the company.
  6. Oversee and mentor QC field inspectors/technicians.
  7. Develop workforce training and development programs, including collaborations with technical schools, community colleges, and industry-standard courses such as NCCER.
  8. Provide performance reports and future plans to the VP and Operations Managers.
  9. Perform other duties as needed.

Applicable Experience & Competencies:

  1. 10+ years of QA/QC experience in an industrial setting.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control of industrial/process piping systems.
  3. Experience in other industrial crafts including concrete, electrical, instrumentation, coatings, insulation, and scaffolding.
  4. Extensive knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, NACE).
  5. AWS CWI certification is required.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Organizational skills, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. API 653 Certification.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
  2. Must be physically capable of working in a jobsite environment for extended periods, including bending, squatting, climbing ladders and stairs, crouching, and reaching.
  3. Must be able to work in extreme conditions such as heavy rain, wind, or high temperatures.
  4. This position will be based in Flowood, MS or Holden, LA, with regular travel required.
