Job summary

Heniff Transportation Systems, LLC is seeking a Parts Inventory Specialist to manage ISO and chassis parts, monitor stock levels, and move parts between shops as needed. You will receive parts from vendors, verify invoices, and ensure accurate labeling in maintenance software.

You will collaborate with shop personnel and the Depot Manager to forecast demand, reduce costs, and maintain organized parts rooms while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to adjust tone to the environment.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and forecast part usage based on historical data and trends.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle and equipment terminology, ISO and chassis maintenance, DOT rules and regulations, company policies and procedures, and automated fleet management information systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.

  • Plan daily parts requirements to meet workload.
  • Track and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.

Position Summary

Responsible for ordering ISO and chassis parts for the organization, monitoring inventory levels, moving parts between shops as needed, and returning parts to vendors as applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Use shop management systems and company policy properly.
  • Order and track all parts needed by workshop personnel.
  • Monitor inventory levels based on part usage and maintain minimum operational levels.
  • Track and organize inventory as instructed by management.
  • Assign parts to repair orders as necessary.
  • Receive parts from vendors and verify invoices for accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of parts rooms.
  • Manage all parts warranties and utilize approved vendors.
  • Properly annotate all parts, comments, and warranties in maintenance management software.
  • Plan daily parts requirements to meet workload.
  • Monitor and analyze opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Use sound judgment to determine when parts should be ordered.
  • Interface with the Depot Manager to discuss business decisions involving parts inventory and allocation.
  • Produce accurate and timely inventory reports.

Physical Demands

Use arms to reach and stretch; hands and fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects of a variety of sizes and manipulate tools, devices, and controls. Use legs to stand for long periods, maneuver through the shop environment, and perform crawling, kneeling, crouching, sitting, and carrying or relocating objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Perform broad locomotive motions, such as bending, twisting, balancing, and reaching, and fine locomotive motions involving fingers for tool manipulation. Adjust bodily motions, postures, and stances to accommodate rapid and gradual changes in the work environment. Visually identify and focus on objects at close and distant ranges, and in central and peripheral locations. Use auditory senses to isolate specific sounds and recognize speech in varying sound levels. Speak clearly at necessary volumes in a variety of environments. Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely.

Work Environment

Shop environment may be susceptible to climate like outdoor weather. Frequent exposure to loud machinery, air tool operation, hammering, and engine noise.
