Kiawah Island Community Association is looking for a dedicated maintenance worker to join our grounds crew on Kiawah Island. This full-time role features stable hours, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm, and working in beautiful island surroundings.

You will perform routine maintenance of common areas, pruning trees, planting and mulching, operate power equipment, and comply with safety policies. We offer competitive pay with robust benefits and 401k matching.

Formación

• Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscaped area maintenance.
• Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, and the ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to work under supervision and solitary.
• A pleasant attitude and customer service skills.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. and walk long distances with equipment.
• Exposure to heat, humidity, cold, dusty and rainy conditions.
• Possible exposure to insects and caustic plants.
• May require repetitive motion, bending over and kneeling.
• Work around chemicals being applied or stored.
• Operate a motor vehicle and an equipment trailer.
• Work near roadways with heavy traffic.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in routine maintenance of KICA common areas: mowing, maintenance, installation, and growing of all plant material.
• Prune trees, water plants, apply pesticides and fertilizers to turf and plants.
• Operate small power and hand equipment and mowers.
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels; report problems to Head Mechanic; log checks.
• Report island conditions out of the ordinary.
• Operate dump trucks, aerial lifts, tractors, and other large equipment.
• Perform other duties as directed.
• Observe safety policies and rules.
