Job summary

Taurean Consulting Group is seeking an Engineer I - IBM iSeries / Power Systems in Las Vegas to help support mission-critical IBM i environments that run our clients' business applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early hands-on IBM i experience who wants to grow their career in enterprise systems administration within a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IBM i experience required; IBM i / Power Systems administration
• Plan and implement upgrades, patches (PTFs), and repairs
• At least 2 years administering IBM iSeries / Power Systems
• IBM IBM i certifications (IBM i / System Administration 7.1+) or equivalent
• Experience with IBM i utilities and tools (Client Access, Navigator)

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support IBM iSeries / Power Systems hardware and software
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to hardware, software, access, and performance
• Monitor system performance, file systems, shares, and permissions
• Respond to and manage incidents and service requests through the Help Desk ticketing system

We're looking for an Engineer I - IBM iSeries / Power Systems to join our IT Infrastructure team in Las Vegas. In this role, you'll help support and maintain mission- critical IBM i (AS/400) and Power Systems environments that keep our client's business applications running smoothly.

• Administer, maintain, and support IBM iSeries / Power Systems hardware and software

• Respond to and manage incidents and service requests through the Help Desk ticketing system
• At least 2 years of experience administering IBM iSeries / Power Systems
• IBM technical certifications (IBM i / System Administration 7.1+ or similar
• Plan and implement system upgrades, patches (PTFs), and repairs
• At least 1 year of experience with IBM i utilities and tools such as:
• IBM Client Access
• IBM Navigator / Director
• BRMS (Backup, Recovery, and Media Services)
• Security and auditing tools (iSecurity, Help Systems, absMessage, or similar)
