Summary
Job Summary

The IS Systems Administrators Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of our information systems infrastructure. Working closely with the ServiceDesk, Information Security, and Systems Engineering teams, this individual will lead a team responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our server and client systems and related technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for driving efficiency and reliability within our IS environment.

Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities
  • Proactively communicate status and needs to colleagues and leadership.
  • Oversee configuration and maintenance of hardware, software, and network services (e.g., Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), including servers, workstations, OS, and applications.
  • Supervise the administration of client-facing systems, such as desktops, Office 365, Exchange, Teams, and Azure services.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect IT assets and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with the security team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Lead resolution of escalated issues, conduct incident response, and maintain an on-call rotation.
  • Produce knowledge base documentation and procedures for the team and Service Desk.
  • Participate in Problem management to identify and resolve chronic issues.
  • Monitor system and application availability and reliability, and implement proactive measures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Participate in IT project planning and implementation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders on project requirements, milestones, and risks.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery and cybersecurity exercises.
  • Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support, and compliance.
  • Provide training and development for team members.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

  • Supervise team, set goals aligned with organizational mission, vision, and values.
  • Identify staffing needs, recruit, and hire with an equity, diversity, and inclusion perspective.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor work; ensure resources are available.
  • Develop and communicate team and individual goals.
  • Train, motivate, and coach employees; support their development.
  • Incorporate CareOregon equity tools into leadership and decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and standards.
  • Evaluate performance and provide feedback; address gaps and accountability.
  • Collaborate with HR for supervisory tasks.

Minimum Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in supporting Microsoft server systems, applications, endpoints, and Office 365 in a medium to large enterprise.
  • At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role, or completion of CareOregon’s Aspiring Leaders Program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing server systems in Azure Cloud.
  • Experience with Office 365, Active Directory, and supporting 1000+ end users in a hybrid environment.

  • Deep understanding of network infrastructure, server administration, and virtualization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft OS and supporting technologies.
  • Knowledge of server applications like SQL Server, IIS, etc.
  • Understanding of network protocols and security principles.

  • Familiarity with ITIL and ITSM practices.
