Job summary

Ardagh Group in Erie area is seeking an IS Operator Journeyman to operate the IS machine and related forming equipment to produce high-quality glass containers. You will assist with job and mold changes, monitor the forming hot end, and verify machine timing.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5+ years in production, ability to stand 8 hours, and lift 20 pounds. Preferred: technical schooling and journeyman card.

• Minimum 5 years in a production manufacturing environment.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours and lift up to 20 pounds.
• Preferred: technical schooling and journeyman certification.

Responsibilities

• Operate the IS machine and related forming equipment.
• Assist with job and mold changes on machines.
• Observe and adjust forming hot end equipment.
• Weigh, measure, and inspect coating application for defects.
• Correct defects reported by other departments.
• Verify required machine functions and timing.
• Lubricate and swab mold and delivery equipment.

Role description

The IS Operator Journeyman operates and manages the Individual Section (IS) machine as well as other related forming equipment to produce high-quality glass containers.

Compensation and Schedule

$41.18 Hourly Rate 12-hr Rotating Shift

Responsibilities

• Operate the IS machine and related forming equipment
• Assist with job and mold changes on machines
• Observe and make adjustments to forming hot end equipment
• Weigh, measure, and visually check hot end coating application for defects
• Correct defects reported by other departments
• Verify required machine functions and timing of machines
• Lubricate and swab mold and delivery equipment

Minimum skills / qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours
• Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds

Preferred skills / qualifications

• Technical school degree or equivalent
• Journeyman Card or equivalent experience
• Experience working with IS Machines
• Stable work history with no gaps in employment
