• Able to communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Position Overview At C&S we are seeking energetic, motivated interns to join our growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands on experience in the workplace. As an Intern at C&S, you will gain real world experience through interesting, challenging and meaningful work while contributing to the bottom line. Position Overview

Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our stores and our offices — every employee of C&S/SpartanNash and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As an Intern you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, contribute to meaningful projects, and better understand what goes into running one of the largest privately held companies in the US. You will have the opportunity to work alongside other interns and C&S employees to expand your network, participate in professional development opportunities, and enjoy some fun activities!

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.
• Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.
• Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.
• Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies
• Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities
• Develop positive professional relationships across departments
• Complete special projects as assigned by your manager
• Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives
• Support projects involving web and mobile applications used in the warehouses and by customers
• Work independently and with team members to develop, test, debug web and mobile solutions in a variety of platforms using Scrum and Agile practices
• Adhere to best practice cloud architecture, development and project methodologies / standards

We’re searching for interns that are:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science program from an accredited university
• Sophomore or Junior year standing by the start of the internship
• In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0
• Proficient with Google’s suite of products (preferred)
• Have proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
• Proficient with React, Native, Node JS, Rest, Java, Databases (preferred)
• Experience with web and mobile application development
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skillsAble to work both independently and collaboratively
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute
